Allstate Teams Up with Kirk Herbstreit to Award #StreitCred to College Football Teams for Exceptional Performances
#StreitCred returns for the second year as part of Allstate’s expansive college football presence, which includes its “Good Hands®” Field Goal Nets, Tailgate Tour and AFCA Good Works Team®
NORTHBROOK, Ill., August 30, 2016 – Allstate Insurance Company is once again teaming up with college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit to provide passionate college football fans the validation they are looking for with the return of #StreitCred.
Throughout the regular college football season, each week @KirkHerbstreit and @Allstate will announce on social media the winning recipient of #StreitCred, giving schools and fans the ultimate badge of honor and bragging rights. Fans are encouraged to follow along the conversation on social media using hashtag StreitCred and campaign for which teams they think are most deserving. Herbstreit will make his weekly Allstate #StreitCred pick taking into account the strongest team performances and standout moments, regardless of individual school rankings.

To kick-off the highly anticipated 2016 college football season, Herbstreit will take to Twitter to reveal his first Allstate #StreitCred pick of the season on Saturday, September 3, after some of the most decorated teams in college football take the field. Fans are also encouraged to tune in to Herbstreit’s weekly Saturday Night Football game coverage on ABC where he will provide live commentary on his weekly Allstate #StreitCred picks.

In addition to #StreitCred, Allstate’s expansive presence in college football includes the Allstate “Good Hands®” Field Goal Nets. For more than a decade, these iconic nets have been raised at college football stadiums across the country. This year, Iowa State, UCLA, the University of North Carolina, NAVY and Duke University will join a roster of 88 other colleges and universities in both the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision and Division I Football Championship Subdivision as part of the “Good Hands®” Field Goal Net program. Since 2005, the program has contributed millions in collegiate scholarship funding to schools across the nation.
The Allstate Tailgate Tour will also be returning for the 2016 season, making stops at 48 college football games across the country. At the tailgate, fans can take part in a variety of family-friendly activities and enter to win a team helmet specific to their school. Fans can also register for Allstate’s season long sweepstakes, in which one grand prize winner will be selected to receive a trip for two to the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship in Tampa and meet Herbstreit.
Additionally, this year marks the 25th anniversary of the Allstate American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Good Works Team® award, which was established in 1992 to recognize a select group of college football players who have made a commitment to service and enriching the lives of others. One of the most coveted off-the-field honors in college football, the program kicked-off in July with the announcement of 165 nominees. In honor of the 25th anniversary, Allstate and the AFCA will add three additional spots to this year’s team and announce a final roster of 25 members in September.
