Allstate Agency Owners Lead Library Renovation at Peabody Elementary

The Allstate Foundation Donates $30,000 to the St. Louis Public Schools Foundation

ST. LOUIS – Feb. 3, 2017 – Allstate believes in the power of our youth and supporting programs that give youth the tools and resources to be the next generation of leaders, rise up and make a difference in the world. Today, local Allstate agents attended a ribbon cutting at Peabody Elementary to celebrate the work they had done to renovate the school’s library. In total, over 30 local agency owners volunteered.

With all hands on deck, Allstate agency owners Tracie Bibb and Deborah Johnson spearheaded the project to renovate the library by rebuilding shelving, covering the walls with fresh paint and clearing debris before organizing books in the rejuvenated space. The group also purchased new books to replace some texts that were over 15 years old, and each child received two brand new books with a special note of encouragement in each cover to start a new reading project.

“When we heard there was a need at Peabody, Deborah Johnson and I knew we wanted to rally the Allstate family to rebuild this space that is incredibly important to families in our community,” said Allstate agency owner Tracie Bibb. “We’re so proud of the dedicated boys and girls of Peabody Elementary who prove good starts young, and we hope the library will inspire confidence and academic success.”

The Allstate Foundation recognized the volunteerism of each Allstate agent with a $1,000 donation to the St. Louis Public Schools Foundation through the Allstate Helping Hands in the Community grant program, and a total of $30,000 was donated. Agents will continue to partner with and dedicate their time to the youth of greater St. Louis to teach students how to develop good character and feel empowered to take action in their communities.
