Young Hollywood Stars Take the XtheTXT® Pledge at Variety's Power of Youth Event
09/15/2012| WHAT: |
Allstate's XtheTXT campaign hit the red carpet earlier today at the 6th annual Variety Power of Youth event, which encourages young celebrities to become involved in philanthropic and humanitarian causes, using their positions in popular culture to motivate others to do the same. The XtheTXT campaign encourages teens and their parents to pledge not to text and drive. During the Power of Youth event, hundreds of event-goers and dozens of celebrities took the XtheTXT pledge, joining more than a million other people who have already taken the pledge. Texting and driving slows reaction time and can increase the risk of crashing by more than 23 times. By pledging not to text and drive, thousands of lives could be saved. |

Hi-resolution photos, Broll and videos of celebrities and event-goers taking the XtheTXT pledge by inking their thumbs and imprinting a Ford Focus wrapped with XtheTXT imagery are available for download on the Allstate newsroom. The Variety Power of Youth event took place on Paramount Studios' New York City backlot in Los Angeles, California.
